Send a Letter from Canada
Our
classroom was recently designated Honorary Citizens of Canada for the Olympic
games. We read about Canadian athletes from all over the country, as they
competed for medals in Salt Lake City, USA.
Today,
the athletes from Canada invite YOU to visit their homeland.
Your task will be to visit a Canadian Province (on
the web, of course!!), and write a letter to the rest of the class about your
trip. Tell us about some of the great places to visit, the fun things to do
there, and of course, the people!!! You may be surprised how much Canadians and
Americans have in common!
Your
trip should take about three to five days.
Process1. The first thing to do is
to choose a province.
Look for facts and figures
about the population, the climate, the government, etc.
Find ten interesting facts
about your province.
2. Make sure you also get a
picture of the provincial flag, which you can download and print, or draw on
your own.
3. Also, get a map of your
province, which can be drawn or downloaded as well.
Your information will be
used to type a three-paragraph letter to the class.
-Your first paragraph
should tell us about the size, the population, the government and the climate
of your province.
-Your second paragraph
should tell us about the people who live there, as well as some of the cities
and towns.
-Your third paragraph
should tell us about some of the fun activities they have there.
Don't forget to summarize
your letter!!
